Uses of Mesacol 400mg Tablet

Mesacol 400mg Tablet DR is used for the treatment or prevention of the following disease(s):

Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Including Ulcerative Colitis, Inflamed Anus or Rectum, Maintain Remission in Crohn's Disease

Side effects of Mesacol 400mg Tablet

The most common side effects of Mesacol 400mg Tablet DR are -

●     Fever

●     Sore Throat or Other Flu Symptoms

●     Constipation

●     Headache or Dizziness

●     Mild Nausea

●     Vomiting

●     Stomach Cramps

●     Diarrhea

●     Gas

●     Tired Feeling

●     Skin Rash

 

These side effects can usually occur in patients. However, these are only indicative and not all patients will experience them.

Precautions while using Mesacol 400mg Tablet

●     Do not use Mesacol 400mg Tablet DR if you are allergic to - Mesalazine/Mesalamine

●     If you have heart disease, liver or kidney disease, drug or alcohol addiction, consult your doctor before using Mesacol 400mg Tablet DR.

●     If you are allergic to any medicine or food, consult your doctor before using this medicine.

●     Use this medicine under the supervision of your doctor.

●     To avoid an adverse reaction, consult your doctor if you are already taking other medicines.

●     Do not use more than the prescribed dosage.

●     Do not use Mesacol 400 mg Tablet DR on advice of a friend or family. Similarly, do not give it to someone you feel has the same symptoms.

Mesacol 400mg Tablet DR contains - Mesalazine/Mesalamine 

Mesalazine acts locally on colonic mucosa and reduces inflammation through a variety of anti-inflammatory processes.

Dosage of Mesacol 400mg Tablet

The dosage of Mesacol 400mg Tablet DR depends on many factors such as the patient's age, health, medical condition or history of the patient and many other conditions.

Overdose of Mesacol 400mg Tablet

If you forget to take a dose of Mesacol 400mg Tablet DR, do not take two doses at the same time, there is a risk of overdose.
